Launch calendar · 2026-06-16

Fourteen days of controlled launch work.

Approval-gated 14-day launch calendar for turning the St Albans site, Buttondown list, referral loop, community routes and sponsor prep into a controlled launch sequence.

Static planning only. Do not post publicly, send subscriber email, contact sponsors, collect payment, reserve inventory, run paid ads or publish referral rankings without fresh editorial approval.

Daily sequence

What to do, and what not to do, before launch

Day 1 · operator

Proof and source desk

Run source checks, confirm the latest issue renders cleanly and verify the subscribe/share routes point to Buttondown-first capture.

Gate

No public claim about subscriber count, reach, referrals or sponsor performance.

Day 2 · editorial approval

Community permission

Select the first three St Albans or Harpenden community routes and prepare admin-permission requests from the community launch pack.

Gate

Do not send moderator messages until route, copy and account are approved.

Day 3 · operator

Referral preflight

Test local referral URL generation and confirm the Buttondown metadata fields required by MY-2571 before exposing any leaderboard count.

Gate

Public leaderboard remains placeholder until confirmed subscriber attribution is exported and reviewed.

Day 4 · editorial approval

First organic post

Use the approved group intro copy and social creative only in routes where admin permission exists.

Gate

No cross-posting, paid boosts, scraping, automated DMs or repeated group posts.

Day 5 · operator

Sponsor shortlist

Pick five property, education, hospitality or professional-service prospects and complete approval-pack fields without contacting them.

Gate

No outreach, payment link, invoice or inventory hold.

Day 6 · editorial approval

Partner counters

Prepare a one-line partner counter blurb and QR-card copy for cafes, bookshops and high-footfall independents.

Gate

No partner asks or physical placement without business and editorial approval.

Day 7 · operator

Issue quality

Review the week-one editions for weak sources, duplicated stories, missing places and practical resident usefulness.

Gate

Keep editorial fixes internal until the daily build passes validation.

Day 8 · operator

Sponsor close room

Convert the strongest two sponsor prospects into manual close-room dossiers with package slug, proof rules and copy risks.

Gate

Use proof-ledger safe claims only.

Day 9 · editorial approval

Village routes

Prepare parish and village-route copy for Wheathampstead, Redbourn, Sandridge, Colney Heath and Park Street.

Gate

Use public parish routes only after exact route and copy are approved.

Day 10 · operator

Affiliate products

Check the products page against actual local coverage and add missing St Albans, Harpenden or Hertfordshire search hooks.

Gate

Keep affiliate links clearly disclosed and avoid implying product endorsement.

Day 11 · operator

Reader feedback

Prepare a low-friction reader feedback prompt for missing places, source tips and morning usefulness.

Gate

Do not collect sensitive personal data or publish submissions without consent.

Day 12 · operator

Sponsor reporting

Fill the sponsor report template with placeholder-safe fields and list analytics still blocked before paid launch.

Gate

No open, click, conversion or referral performance claims until verified.

Day 13 · operator

Second-wave community

Rank the next five local routes by resident fit, moderation risk and likelihood of quality subscribers.

Gate

Do not post in weak-fit or hostile routes just to chase volume.

Day 14 · operator

Launch review

Summarise subscribers, confirmed source quality, community permissions, sponsor dossiers and remaining blockers for the editor.

Gate

Escalate before any public ranking, sponsor outreach, paid spend or live checkout.
